Job Description

Kodiak is seeking experienced Pipefitters at the Journeyman and Helper levels for a data center fitting project. The role focuses on bolt up work on prefabricated piping items, reading fabrication drawings, assembling pre-fabricated pipe spools, performing precision fit up, and ensuring all assemblies are plumb, level, and square.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a data center environment and possess strong layout and fabrication skills. Both local and traveling candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret piping isometric drawings and fabrication blueprints
  • Fit and assemble carbon steel and stainless steel piping systems
  • Measure, lay out, and align piping components to specification
  • Assemble pre-fabricated pipe spools while maintaining proper dimensions and fit up
  • Verify all assemblies are plumb, level, and square
  • Maintain proper weld gaps and prepare assemblies for welding
  • Install and align flanges, elbows, tees, reducers, valves, and other piping components
  • Perform quality checks to ensure assemblies meet drawing specifications
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area

Requirements

  • Per Diem Eligibility: Maintain a permanent residence more than 60 miles from the jobsite
  • Per Diem Eligibility: Work their full scheduled shift each day
  • Journeyman Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of pipefitting experience
  • Journeyman Qualifications: Experience fitting carbon steel pipe required
  • Journeyman Qualifications: Stainless steel pipe experience preferred
  • Journeyman Qualifications: Previous pipe fabrication shop experience strongly preferred
  • Journeyman Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret piping isometric drawings independently
  • Journeyman Qualifications: Working knowledge of swing joints and rolling offsets required
  • Journeyman Qualifications: Strong pipe layout, measuring, and fabrication skills
  • Journeyman Qualifications: Ability to accurately use tape measures, levels, squares, and standard pipefitting tools
  • Journeyman Qualifications: Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled overtime
  • Helper Qualifications: Prior pipefitting or construction experience preferred, not required
  • Helper Qualifications: Willingness to learn pipe layout, measuring, and fit up under direction of a Journeyman
  • Helper Qualifications: Ability to safely use tape measures, levels, squares, and standard pipefitting tools
  • Helper Qualifications: Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled overtime
  • Helper Qualifications: Strong work ethic and ability to follow direction on a fast paced jobsite
  • Pipefitter Skills Test: Assemble three (3) pre-fabricated pipe spools from isometric drawings within 3 hours
  • Pipefitter Skills Test: All pipe and fittings will be pre-cut and ready for assembly
  • Pipefitter Skills Test: A welder will be provided to assist with tack welding
  • Pipefitter Skills Test: Candidates are responsible for correctly fitting and assembling each spool
  • Pipefitter Skills Test: All assemblies must be plumb, level, and square
  • Pipefitter Skills Test: Demonstrate accurate fit up, proper flange orientation, and overall fabrication quality
