Job Description:
Pipe Welders 1st Class perform welding procedures on stainless steel and copper-nickel piping systems in Pascagoula, MS. The role involves sealing the vital piping networks that supply ships with chemical, steam, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems. Pipe welders work in a 24-hour shipyard manufacturing setting including confined spaces, variable heights, multiple weather conditions, and rotating shifts.
- Perform pipe welding using GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) on stainless steel and copper-nickel pipe
- Work in the 6G restricted position for pipe welding production and tests

Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of pipe welding experience.
- Experience in GTAW (TIG) welding and SMAW (Stick Welding).
- Must pass a military standard X-ray welding test on stainless steel and copper-nickel in the 6G position.
- Must be able to complete the restricted 6G test on a 5" schedule 80 carbon steel pipe.
- GTAW (Tig) process used for root pass, 11018 electrode used for weld fill portion, and cap.
