What You'll Do

  • Perform rough and finish carpentry, framing, maintenance, and construction projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete projects in remote environments
  • Track materials, inventory, and work orders using computer-based systems
  • Respond to maintenance and emergency service needs as required
  • Help maintain safe, efficient, and sustainable operations across station facilities
  • Support community and environmental stewardship programs

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of carpentry experience including rough framing and finish work
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safety
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License
  • Must pass medical, dental, drug screening, background checks, and meet deployment requirements.
  • Commercial or industrial construction experience
  • Metal stud framing, drywall hanging, and finishing experience
  • Experience working in remote locations or extreme environments
  • First Aid/Wilderness First Aid training
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Ability to lift, carry, climb, kneel, crawl, and perform physically demanding work
  • Comfortable working outdoors in extreme cold and challenging weather conditions
  • Willingness to deploy to Antarctica for an extended seasonal assignment
