Welder

Full-time structural welding projects located in and around Paducah, KY. Per diem ($100/day) for travelers 60+ miles from job site.

Job Scope:

• Perform structural welding on carbon steel and occasional stainless
• Repair cracked welds, damaged framing, deck plating and structural members
• Install and replace bulkheads, stiffeners, brackets, frames and decking
• SMAW & Stick welding
• Hardwire flux core welding as required
• Interpret blueprints, shipyard drawings and work orders
• Perform horizontal, vertical and overhead welding positions
• Cut and fit material using torch and grinders
• Gouging and back-gouging as needed
• Work in confined spaces, inside hulls, tanks and tight compartments
• Maintain weld quality to meet shipyard and Coast Guard inspection standards
